Description

Salon San Carlos V: Pip Pip Hooray!

Join Salon San Carlos for our fifth season with an evening of diabolical fun, dark lusts, and drag!

Welcome puppeteer L M deLeon and her skeleton crew in Bones Boning, "a short tale of lust after life," followed by Foulplay Productions and Fabulous Expectations in which straight-boy Pip enters a high-stakes drag pageant in order to impress the gorgeous fag-hag Estella. Laden with marvelous song parodies, the highest and lowest brows of humor, and the dried-up old queen known as Miz Havisham, this Dickens homage is what we've been waiting for for years (whether we knew it or not).

This event is FREE to the public. Reservations are required due to space limitations; some space will be available at the door for walk-ups (see below).

Performance begins at 8 p.m (Sundays at 5 p.m.)., doors and waiting list will open at 7:30 p.m (Sundays at 4:30). No-show reservations will be distributed to the waiting list starting at 7:55 p.m (Sundays at 4:55). There will be no late seating.

Event is BYOB and donation-friendly. Brown bags and generous natures strongly encouraged! All proceeds will go directly to the performers.

Shows will be held March 6 - 8 in the Mission District at 20th Street and San Carlos, and March 13 - 15 at 7th Avenue and Lake. Parking is challenging, but venue is easily accessible by BART, and MUNI (49, 14, 22, 33). Seventh Avenue location is accessible by MUNI (1,2, 38, 44). Biking is also a good option.

In 2023 Estrella Suerte Productions presents The Forever Wave; a radio play inspired by Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood, written and directed by Nicole Gluckstern. Set in a drowned Bay Area, circa 2070, The Forever Wave imagines the survivors of this water-logged world as occupying the tops of hills, individual islands jutting up from a climate-change induced tide that rolled in one day and never rolled out. What communities will emerge in a future where our systems have collapsed and our “normal” is a historical relic? What can the hilltop-dwellers of the future teach us about ourselves in the now? And what are the things we can start building in order to avoid their fate?
